Sideways Pages Are More Common Than You Think

A document scanned with the feeder loaded the wrong way. A phone photo taken in landscape and converted to PDF. A spreadsheet exported sideways. Upload your PDF and the tool displays each page as a numbered tile. Click tiles to select which pages to rotate — or tap All to select every page at once. Then pick your angle: 90° clockwise to turn a portrait page landscape, 180° to flip an upside-down page right-side-up, or 270° (equivalent to 90° counter-clockwise) to turn landscape back to portrait. The Right Angle for Each Situation

• Upside-down document: All pages 180° — the entire document was scanned face-down. If pages are also in the wrong order, combine with our Reorder PDF tool to fix both at once
• Portrait pages showing as landscape: Rotate 90° or 270° depending on which direction the page tipped
• Mixed orientation document: Deselect the pages that are already correct, then rotate only the problem pages
• Wide tables turned sideways: Some PDFs intentionally use landscape for wide tables — rotate just those pages if the orientation was set incorrectly
• Phone photos converted to PDF: Photos taken in landscape often come out rotated when saved as PDF — select just those pages and rotate 90°

Why Rotation Is Lossless — and Instant

PDF rotation works by changing a single metadata value on each page — the Rotate key in the page dictionary. The actual page content (text, images, vector graphics) is not touched, redrawn or recompressed. This is why even a 100-page PDF rotates in under a second: there is no rendering work to do, just a number to update. It also means the output is completely lossless — text stays selectable, images retain full resolution, and file size changes by only a few bytes per rotated page.

When Rotation Alone Is Not Enough

If your scanned document has pages that are both sideways and in the wrong order, fix the orientation here first, then run the output through our Reorder PDF tool to arrange the pages correctly.
