Invoice Generator
Create professional GST-compliant invoices in your browser. Add logo, signature, line items, taxes and download as PDF — completely free.
What Can You Create With This Invoice Generator?
The ToollyX Invoice Generator handles the complete invoicing workflow in your browser — no software, no account, no subscription. Fill in your business details, your client's information, line items with quantities and unit rates, and add multiple tax lines (CGST, SGST, IGST, VAT or custom) at your chosen percentages. Upload your company logo, draw your signature directly on screen, and download a pixel-perfect PDF invoice instantly. The running subtotal, tax and grand total update live as you type.
GST-Compliant Invoice Structure
For intra-state transactions (supplier and buyer in the same state): add CGST and SGST as separate tax lines, each at half the GST rate. For inter-state transactions: add a single IGST line at the full rate. You can add as many tax lines as needed — for example, a service attracting both GST and cess. Always include your GSTIN and the buyer's GSTIN (if registered) on the invoice. Use our GST Calculator to verify your tax amounts before generating the invoice.
Invoice Numbering and Legal Requirements
Under GST law, a tax invoice must include: your legal business name, GSTIN, invoice number (sequential), invoice date, supply destination (buyer state), HSN/SAC code for each item, taxable value, applicable GST rate, CGST/SGST/IGST amounts, and total amount. The invoice number must be unique and issued in a running serial for each financial year. This tool lets you set the invoice number, date and all required fields manually — you control the format.
Privacy — Your Data Never Leaves Your Browser
Every piece of information you enter — business name, client details, pricing, bank account, GSTIN and signature — exists only in your browser tab. Nothing is sent to any server. The PDF is generated entirely locally using the PDF-lib library and downloaded directly to your device. Close the tab and everything is cleared — there is no database, no cloud storage and no session tracking. This matters particularly when invoicing involves sensitive financial or personal information.
Who Should Use This Invoice Generator?
This tool is ideal for freelancers, consultants and small business owners who need occasional invoices without paying for invoicing software subscriptions. It is also useful for: startups issuing their first few invoices before choosing an accounting system, salaried professionals with side income who need simple receipts, agencies issuing project-based invoices, and anyone who needs a one-off professional invoice quickly. For recurring billing with auto-reminders and payment tracking, a dedicated accounting platform is more appropriate.
Understanding TDS on Your Invoices
If you are a freelancer or consultant, your clients may deduct TDS (10% under Section 194J for professional services) before paying your invoice amount. The invoice should still show the full gross amount — TDS is a separate tax compliance matter between you and your client. Your client will deposit the TDS with the government and issue a TDS certificate. Use our TDS Calculator to understand how much will be deducted and to verify your net receivable amount.
Invoice Payments and Tax on Freelance Income
Freelance and consulting income from invoices is taxable under "Income from Business and Profession" in your ITR. You can deduct legitimate business expenses (internet, software, home office proportional cost, professional development) before computing taxable income. If your gross receipts exceed ₹75 lakh (no-cash transactions), you are required to get your accounts audited. Use our Income Tax Calculator to estimate your advance tax liability on freelance income so you are not caught with a large demand at filing time.
